Apollo.io Alternatives for Local Business Leads (2026)
Apollo.io isn't a bad tool — it's the wrong tool if your buyer is a local service business. Its 220M-contact database is built from registries, LinkedIn and web signals, and a two-person garage appears in none of those. This isn't a data-quality issue you can filter around; it's structural. Here's what to use instead.
We make one of the alternatives below. We've flagged where Apollo still wins, because for a lot of use cases it does.
Where Apollo genuinely wins
Don't switch away if this is you:
- You sell to registered companies with job titles — SaaS, recruitment, professional services
- You need to reach a named person: the CMO, the Head of Ops
- You want filters on headcount, funding, tech stack
- Your market is primarily the United States
For that, Apollo is hard to beat at the price. Free tier, paid from around $49/user/month.
Where it structurally can't help
Type "hairdresser Manchester" into Apollo's filters and you'll get a thin, disappointing list. Not because the filter is broken, but because:
- Micro-businesses have no LinkedIn presence. No company page, no employees with titles.
- Sole traders often aren't in commercial registries in a usable form, and where they are, the record has a name and an address — nothing about their marketing.
- The signal you need isn't there. Apollo can tell you a company has 200 employees and uses HubSpot. It can't tell you a salon has 4.9 stars, 87 reviews and no website — which is the entire reason to contact them.
- Non-US email accuracy drops sharply. Bounce rates in the 15–35% range are widely reported for European data.
The gap isn't a bug. Apollo indexes the formal economy. Local service businesses live in the informal one — visible on Google Maps and almost nowhere else.
The alternatives, by what you actually need
If you need the decision, not the data — Lead Radary
Ours. Scans Google Maps in any European city, detects why a business is worth contacting (no website, weak site, low rating, few reviews), grades leads A/B/C/D and drafts the first message in the prospect's language. From $15/month; free plan with 5 leads.
Honest limits: company-level only, so no named decision-makers. We don't send email. Our free tier is smaller than several competitors'.
If you just need rows — Outscraper or Scrap.io
Bulk Google Maps data as CSV. Outscraper from about $3/1,000 records; Scrap.io around 10,000 leads for $35.
Trade-off: no scoring, no reason, no message. You're buying raw material and doing the qualification yourself. Cheaper if you know how; a time sink if you don't.
If you need lookalike at company level — Ocean.io
Paste your best client's URL, get similar companies. From $79/month across 35M companies. Better suited to registered B2B than to local trades, and contact data is often stale.
If you're in Poland — OutreachPilot
Combines the CEIDG register with Google Maps and sends the sequence too. 99–799 zł/month, free plan with 50 leads. Poland only, but for Poland it's the most complete package on this list.
If you need decision-makers and Apollo's data is thin — Cognism or Lusha
Better European coverage and phone-verified data. Considerably more expensive. Still won't find your local hairdresser.

Can you use both?
Yes, and plenty of agencies should. They answer different questions:
- Apollo for the mid-market accounts where you need a named person
- A Maps-based tool for the long tail of local businesses where the company is the person
The mistake is expecting one to do both.
How to decide in one question
Does your buyer have a job title, or are they the whole business?
Job title → Apollo. The whole business → something built on Google Maps.
If it's the second, try Lead Radary free — five leads, no card. And if it turns out your buyer does have a job title after all, stay with Apollo; we won't help you there.
